Thank you for helping...... - 30 June 2010
Thanks to all those of you who helped out at the Summer Gala last week. Many of the usual faces turned up to assist plus some very welcome new faces. The food spread for the officals and coaches was amazing and conduct of our swimmers first class. The total amount raised was a little under £3000 which was superb considering entries were down on last year but the raffle and food assisted in boosting funds.Your help is really appreciated and although it is often said - the success of all our events really does rely on support from our parents.

22 EFDSC swimmers swam at Block B - they swam their socks off with a plethora of PBs. I won’t mention that one poor swimmer was driven to the wrong pool by their parent! Oops! Well done all, back to training till the next time – Block C at Blackshots, Grays!

Epping entered 30 swimmers in 75 events and nearly everyone achieved really good pbs! Our finalist were Arjun Robertson, Bonnie Sawyer, Jessica Lambert, Eleanor Bedwell, Megan Holder, Chris Mitchell, Emma Waite, Amy Goillau, Charlotte Kenyon, Melissa Seeley and Marius Vermaak.

The team put in another good display at "The Venue" in Borehamwood to finish 4th on the night. This maintains our position in the top division of the Speedo League London region for next years competition. Well done to the team.

Youth swimmers Michael Coles, Amy Goillau, David Price and Marc Richards together with eight age-group relay teams took part in the championship weekend on the 25/26th Nov. We are pleased to announce that we have appointed Jo Whiffin as Welfare Officer for the club. We feel her background makes her the ideal candidate to help move the club forward and keep pace with ASA recommendations and policies concerning this topic and welcome her assistance. Should any club member (swimmer, parent or coach) have concerns now or in the future over child protection issues then please do not hesitate to contact Jo directly or by e-mailing welfare@efdsc.org, only the welfare officer can access this mailbox.

Having moved up to the top Speedo division in London, Epping swimmers performed marvellously especially the Posnett girls who swam in the open relays with girls much older than them. Well done to all swimmers for coming 5th. Times have been entered on the database.
